Where to stay

Denver has one airport, so the only real decision is how you get from it to your hotel.
- Fly into DEN
- Denver International Airport, code DEN, which locals still call DIA. It is the only major commercial airport serving Denver, so there is no wrong choice to make here.
- Airport to downtown
- The airport sits about 25 miles northeast of the city. Driving or a rideshare runs roughly 35 to 45 minutes depending on traffic.
- Train from the airport
- RTD's A Line runs from the airport station straight to Union Station downtown in about 37 minutes, and it is not affected by traffic on I-70.
- Getting to campus
- From Union Station, RTD light rail continues south to the University of Denver station, a short walk from The Cable Center. Cherry Creek to campus is about ten minutes by car.
- Parking at the venue
- VIP tickets include premier parking. Everyone else can use the adjacent lot for $15 per day.
Where to eat
A short, opinionated list rather than a directory. Denver books up on a Wednesday night, so reserve ahead if there is somewhere you actually want to sit.
Where both room blocks are, so this is the walkable option if you would rather not move the car after you land.
- The Cherry Cricket — The Denver burger. A neighborhood bar that has been there forever, no reservations, worth the wait.
- Quality Italian — Steakhouse and Italian in one, and a good room for a group.
- Le Bilboquet — French bistro, patio, reliably busy.
- Blue Island Oyster Bar — Raw bar and seafood, easy for a lighter dinner.
- North Italia — Handmade pasta, casual, the least fussy way to feed a group.
Fifteen or twenty minutes from Cherry Creek, and where to go if you are staying an extra night and want to see the city.
- Tavernetta — Northern Italian by Union Station. Worth the reservation.
- Rioja — On Larimer Square, Mediterranean, a Denver fixture for years.
- Mercantile Dining & Provision — Inside Union Station, market by day and dining room by night.
- Guard and Grace — Modern steakhouse downtown, the default for a client dinner.
- Safta — Israeli cooking in RiNo. Order the hummus and the bread.
